It is essential to learn how to be your own best advisor because there are times when you will need to deal with an immediate situation and if you must wait till some authority becomes available you may lose your opportunity to fix things before they get really ugly. 

It’s this simple.  You’re there, thus it’s your job.

No one knows your child better than you so you can personalize your solutions to match your child. No other advisor can do that regardless what their credentials say.

Being your own best advisor gets you freedom from needless worry and the extra time to start new projects or finish old ones. This is extremely valuable. We have sorted out all the parenting data and only report those solutions that work towards these results. But we ask you to test this data for yourself and only accept that data that works for you and your family.

Because we are pragmatic (practical) we often suggest things that are different from conventional parenting. For example we think it’s rather fruitless to attempt to solve problems one is actively creating. We suggest instead that every problem you don’t create is a problem you don’t have to solve. Stopping to create a problem is a faster fix and requires no one else’s permission, approval or cooperation.

We encourage you to reject any data that doesn’t work for you and your family when you use it as it was offered.

Parenting is not a theoretical subject. Succeeding as a parent requires you to become good at applying some very specific skills. To this end, we have arranged our program so that you get to practice certain skills until you are proficient. If you have a skill that produces measurable results (art, cooking, music, sports, technology, etc.), you will understand that you must practice to produce good results.
